Occupational therapy services can include supporting one’s participation in activities of daily living (ADLs) including grooming, hygiene, dressing, eating, toileting, and bathing; IADLs including meal prep, safety awareness, and community mobility; rest and sleep; play; and social engagement. Fine motor skills such as scissor skills, cutting with utensils, buttoning, and handwriting are also different skills that are essential for life. OTs can also support and problem solve participation in routines such as bedtime and morning routines. OTs focus on supporting human participation in meaningful activities.
